Custom Stone Fabricator (Entry Level and Experienced)

Position Overview and Reporting Relationship:

We are looking for team members who are passionate about delivering great customer service and uncompromising quality.  We have positions in our fabrication team and in our installation team for individuals who are excited about learning the stone trade.  Experience in the stone industry is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidates. 

Reports To:        Production Manager

General Purpose of Position:  

The successful candidate will learn and gain mastery of all stone fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, shaping, and polishing to match the finish template; and performing a final cleaning and quality check of their pieces to ensure that they meet the specifications and are ready for installation. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to be Mastered:  

• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Maintain an efficient, clean and organized work area.
• Ability to perform all types of edge work.
• Ability to set up and work with router.
• Ability to lay out and complete various types of sink holes and cutouts.
• Ability to hone and refinish polished faces on marble and granite.
• Ability to cut or shape stone according to drawings and templates.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and to ask clarifying questions as needed.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Follow and comply with the company safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate a positive “company” driven approach with managers and team members.
• Perform the proper handling of materials to eliminate injuries and avoid damaging pieces.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The position will spend most of the time working in an environment that is relatively loud and will require the following physical activities on a regular basis:  Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.  Required to be able to lift 80 lbs. or more at times and work eight (8) to twelve (12) hour workdays depending on business needs. Early morning start time.

Work Location: Most of the work for this position is performed at our shop in Meridian, but occasional assistance could be required at job sites throughout the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00+ per hour – depending on experience

• Monday to Friday 7:00 to 4:00, with extended hours required as business needs arise.
